Effectiveness of Behavioral-communication couple therapy on Increasing the Happiness and Marital Satisfaction of Infertile Couples

Intrudaction: Infertility is associated with several psychological problems. Considering the increasing prevalence of infertility and the role of psychological factors, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of behavioral couple therapy on increasing the happiness and marital satisfaction among infertile couples. Materials and Methods: The sample included ۲۴ couples who were selected using available sampling method from Motazedi Infertility Center of Kermanshah and were randomly assigned to two groups of experimental (۱۲ couples) and control (۱۲ couples). Data collection tools were Oxford Happiness Questionnaire and Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale completed in three stages of pre- test, post- test, and follow- up. Data were analyzed by repeated measure of variance analysis and Least Significant Difference (LSD) using SPSS-۱۶ software. Results: The results of the data analysis in the happiness variable showed that the effect of time (f=۵.۸۷, p=۰۰۴) and the interactive effect of time and group (f=۱۳.۴۸, P<۰.۰۰۱) are significant in the marital satisfaction variable showed that the effect of time (f=۱۰.۷۰, P<۰.۰۰۱) and the interactive effect of time and group (f=۱۶.۳۶, P<۰.۰۰۱) are significant. Conclusions: Behavioral Couple Therapy can be used in women and in particular infertile men to increasing the happiness and marital satisfaction among them.
