چکیده مقاله:

eHealth literacy refers to the ability to search, evaluate, and apply digital health information and is essential for improving care quality. Nurses, as frontline healthcare providers, need strong skills in this area. Previous studies have shown that nurses’ eHealth literacy is influenced by access to educational resources, work experience, and demographic characteristics. This study aimed to assess eHealth literacy and its demographic and occupational determinants among nurses. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with ۳۳۴ nurses selected through stratified random sampling from public hospitals in Tehran, Iran. Data were collected using a demographic and occupational form and the validated eHealth Literacy Scale (eHEALS). Analyses included descriptive statistics, Spearman’s correlation, Kruskal–Wallis and Mann–Whitney tests, and multiple linear regression. The mean eHealth literacy score was ۲۶.۰۸ ± ۶.۱ out of ۴۰, indicating a moderate level, and only ۱۰.۵% of nurses had high literacy. eHealth literacy was significantly associated with age, education, work experience, marital status, and work shift. Higher literacy was observed among younger nurses, those with higher education, and morning-shift workers, while lower scores were found in older, married, and rotating-shift nurses. These findings highlight the need for targeted training programs, especially for older and rotating-shift nurses, along with institutional strategies to enhance digital competencies and infrastructure in healthcare settings.
