Universal Grammar in Emergentism Theory: An Overview (Is Retirement of UG Subject to Misinterpretation )

There have always been issues of controversies among linguistics researchers. Among the controversial issues during the last half century, is the concept of universal grammar (UG). The concept of UG has been criticized and under attack by some studies. Even it hasbeen subject to retirement. The current research aimed to have anoverview of the concept of UG in emergentist s view and to elaborateon what UG means in emergentism and how it is differentiated fromChamskian view. It is concluded that by an emergentism view oflanguage learning the issue of UG is far from being retirement.
