چکیده مقاله:
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of intellectual capital on organizational performance of the employees of Ahvaz Jundishapour University of Medical Sciences considering organizational agility as a mediator. Methods: In terms of its objective, this study is an applied one, but according to the natureand manner of data collection, it is descriptive-causal. The population of this research includes the employees of Ahvaz Jundishapour University of Medical Sciences, of whom asample of 290 was selected. Three questionnaires (i.e., intellectual capital, organizationalperformance, and organizational agility) were used as research tools. The collected data were analyzed by a two-stage approach to structural equation modeling using SPSS and SmartPLS. Results: The results showed a positive and significant effect of intellectual capital onperformance. The findings also showed that intellectual capital (human capital, structural capital, customer capital (relational)) with the mediating role of organizational agility has asignificant, direct and positive impact on organizational performance. Conclusion: The confirmation of the research hypothesis of this study suggests that given the importance of intellectual assets, particularly in universities and higher education institutions,which are a symbol of knowledge-based organizations and the important role that these institutions play in addressing the economic and social development, they should actively manage the processes generating their knowledge assets and recognize the value of their intellectual capital and the role they have in society.
