This study was conducted to determine the optimum seed rate for maximizing seed yield in winter canola (Brassica napus L.) cv. RGS۰۰۳. A two-year field experiment was carried out using a randomized complete block design with four replications. The treatments comprised three seed rates: ۵, ۷, and ۹ kg ha. Sowing was performed in late October, and during the growing season, phenological traits and final seed yield were recorded. Combined analysis of variance revealed that seed rate had a significant effect on seed yield (P < ۰.۰۱). The highest mean seed yield over the two years was obtained from the ۷ kg ha¹ treatment (۳۲۴۶ kg ha¯¹), whereas the lowest yield (۲۶۲۲ kg ha¹) was recorded for the ۹ kg ha¹ treatment. The year x seed rate interaction was also significant (P<۰.۰۱); in the second year, the ۷ kg ha¯¹ treatment produced the maximum yield (۳۳۵۳ kg ha¹), while in the first year, the ۹ kg ha¹ treatment gave the minimum yield (۲۲۸۷ kg ha). Based on these findings, the seed rate of ۷ kg ha¹ is recommended as the optimum rate for achieving maximum seed yield of canola cv. RGS۰۰۳.
