چکیده مقاله:
In this study, the seismic retrofitting of reinforced concrete frame structures using metallic yielding dampers with an optimized cross section is investigated. The damper was numerically modeled and validated against experimental results in ABAQUS, and its optimal configuration was determined through displacement-controlled loading. Four lateral load–resisting systems were examined: a medium-ductility reinforced concrete moment-resisting frame, a moment-resisting frame with shear walls, a moment-resisting frame with eccentrically braced frames (EBF), and an EBF system equipped with metallic yielding dampers. Structures with ۸, ۱۴, and ۲۲ stories and plan dimensions of (۲۲ × ۲۲) m were analyzed. Among the damper configurations considered, the damper with ۱۲ yielding plates exhibited the best performance and was selected for comparison. Results indicate that damper-equipped systems significantly reduce maximum displacement compared to braced and shear wall systems, particularly in low-rise structures. Overall, the proposed metallic yielding damper system is more effective for low-rise buildings, while shear wall systems show better performance in mid-rise structures.
