This study was performed to evaluation seed yield and important traits that identify high yielding and adaptable varieties for dry land areas. This experiment was conducted in Gachsaran agricultural rain fed research station in 2008-2009 growing season. In this study 17 cultivars received from SPII (Karaj). The cultivars planted in RCBD design with 3 replications and each genotype was planted in 4 rows with 5 meters length and 50 cm row spacing. During growing season data were collected from some agronomical morphrpho-physiological traits. Simple analysis of varieties based on mathematical model design, was performed on the seed yield based on least significant difference (LS.D) method at 1 and 5% probability levels in comparing with check(Armaviresky and Azargol). Analysis of variance showed that sunflower genotypes were significantly differing for days to start of flowering and maturity, plant height (PH), and seed weight Mean and range of days to maturity in genotypes was 179.4 and 171 186 days, respectively. Variation range was for stem diameter 8.8 (SHF81-90) 13.6 (Zaria), head diameter 9 (Favorite) 11.4 (Hysan36), Number of leaf 16 (Armaveski) 23 (Azargol) and kernel thousand weight 24.8 (Hysan36) 43.5 (Lakomka). The highest seed yield belonged to Megasun, Allstar, Lakomka and Euroflor (738.5 and 671.6, 660 and 657.2 Kg/ha, respectively) and the least related to Favorite (470 Kg/ha).
