This study was performed to evaluation grain yield, oil percent and important traits that identify high yielding and adaptable varieties for dry land areas. This experiment was conducted in Gachsaran agricultural rain fed research station in 2008- 2009 growing season. In this study 19 cultivars received from SPII (Karaj). The cultivars planted in RCBD design with 3 replications each genotype was planted in 4 rows with 5 meters length and 50 cm row spacing. During growing season data were collected from some agronomical morphrpho-physiological traits. Simple analysis of varieties based on mathematical model design, was performed on the grain yield based on least significant difference (LS.D) method at 1&5% probability levels in comparing with check(Armaviresky and Favourite). Analysis of variance showed that sunflower genotypes were significantly differing for days to start of flowering and maturity, plant height (PH), seed weight, and seed yield. Mean and range of days to maturity in genotypes was 180.3 and 176 - 189 days, respectively. Variation range was for stem diameter 6.9 (genotype 6) - 12.3 (Armavireski), head diameter 8.7 (genotype 3) - 14.7 (Favorite), 14.8 (genotype 3) - 27 (Favorite) and kernel thousand weight 25.1 (genotype 18) - 37.2 (Allstar). The highest seed yield belonged to genotypes No. 6, 11, 10 and 2 (960.7, 777.3, 775.8 and 775.2 Kg/ha, respectively) and the least related to Armavireski (394.5 Kg/ha).
