چکیده مقاله:
Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer disease and the leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the worldwide. As a potential anticancer agent, Curcumin (cur) has been displayed to possess powerful antineoplastic activity against a number of tumors including prostate, colon and breast cancer. Nevertheless, low aqueous solubility, poor stability and rapid metabolism in the liverhave limited systemic bioavailability of Cur. The purpose of this study was to assess therapeutic potential of Novel Curcumin Nanoniosome Formulation for Prostate cancer treatment. In this study, Curcumin nanoniosomal was formulated and then characterized for encapsulation efficiency, particle size, polydispersity index and zeta- potential measurements. Tween 60 and Cholesterol were obtained from Lipoid GmbH. MTT was obtained from Sigma-Aldrich. PC3 cell was obtained from the Iranian Biological Resource Center (Tehran, Iran). The vesicle size, encapsulation efficiency, polydispersity index, and zeta potentials of purposed formula were 127.5 nm, 98.4 %, 0.247 and -6, respectively. Cytotoxicity of Curcumin niosomal and free Curcumin on PC3 cell line showed that the Curcumin niosome formulation is more effective than that free Curcumin. According to these results, the prepared curcumin niosome indicated to be promising as a nano-size carrier for the delivery of Curcumin and Prostate cancer therapy.
