Dynamics modeling and control of mooring lines while cargo vessels loading

A Developed mooring unit, the MoorMaster, which replacesconventional mooring lines is addressed here. Thehydraulics of the system have a strong deducting effects onthe motions of the moored ship. Measurements at acontainer terminal port have shown that the surge motion ofcontainer ships was reduced from an amplitude of 1 meterto an amplitude in the order of 5 centimeters, while usingMoorMaster™ units. This paper addresses the operationmechanism of MoorMaster units. MoorMaster units act intwo different states that in this paper both of them areexplained and the results are given in a series of figures.
