چکیده مقاله:

Money laundering is one of transnational organized crimes the many countries especially developing countries are widely grappling with. Nowadays, money laundering has remarkably increased due to the dramatic growth of crime and criminal activities in the world in a way that it's become one of the acute problems of global economy and threatened the development of the global economy. The phenomenon of money laundering is one of the most devastating financial crimes which its harmful effects could have a lot of destructive effects on in all economic, social and political areas. In recent years, governments have found that traditional methods are not enough to deal with crimes and one of the most effective in the detection of crimes is to monitor how funds are spent in countries. The traditional method of fighting crime was basically focused on preventing the occurrence of the origin crime and after the crime took place, the criminal could easily tend to use its resulting benefits with simple coverings. But the government are now trying to identify and track the ways to use the proceeds from crime through enacting laws and legislations to fight money laundering. The Islamic Republic of Iran also considered the issue of fighting money laundering years ago given being located on the path of drug transit, vacuity in banking system and ... until the Act was approved by Islamic Consultative Assembly in 7002 and the mechanisms to combat this phenomenon was explained. Yet, there are some flaws in the banking system of the country so the necessity of reviewing and updating the policies in order to fight this phenomenon is still required.
