چکیده مقاله:

Community health nurses play a vital role in promoting public health by providing health education and implementing sustainable health promotion programs. Their responsibilities extend beyond direct clinical care to include advocacy, community engagement, and empowerment of individuals and groups to adopt healthier lifestyles and prevent diseases. This study examines the strategies, challenges, and outcomes associated with the work of community health nurses, emphasizing their contribution to long-term improvements in public health. Tailored health education programs that consider cultural, social, and literacy factors enable communities to make informed decisions and develop self-care practices. Sustainable health promotion initiatives, achieved through collaboration with local organizations, schools, and policymakers, ensure continuous engagement and lasting behavioral change. Despite their critical role, community health nurses face challenges such as limited resources, cultural and language barriers, and inadequate institutional support, which can hinder program effectiveness. Strategies including professional training, community participation, evidence-based program design, policy support, and the use of digital tools are essential to enhance the impact and sustainability of these programs. By strengthening the role of community health nurses, communities can achieve reduced disease prevalence, improved health literacy, equitable access to care, and greater overall resilience, ultimately contributing to lasting public health improvements.
