چکیده مقاله:

Emotional breakdown is one of the stressful psychological experiences that can be influenced by cognitive emotional strategies. The present study aimed to investigate the moderating role of psychological flexibility in the relationship between emotional breakdown and cognitive emotional regulation strategies in students. The inclusion criteria for the study were experiencing emotional breakdown at least in the past two years and being a student. The research method was correlational. The statistical population included students studying throughout the country in ۲۰۲۵ and a sample of ۴۵۰ people who were selected in a random manner. The instruments used included the Psychological Flexibility Questionnaire by Bond et al. (۲۰۱۱), the Emotional Breakdown Questionnaire by Ross (۱۹۹۹), and the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire by Garnevsky et al. (۲۰۰۲). Data analysis was performed using hierarchical regression. The results showed that psychological flexibility has a moderating role in the relationship between emotional breakdown and adaptive cognitive emotional regulation strategies, but does not have a moderating role in the relationship between emotional breakdown and maladaptive strategies. The findings of the present study point to the role of psychological flexibility in adapting to suffering after the end of an emotional relationship and as a psychological shield, especially its effect on emotion regulation.
