چکیده مقاله:
The evolution of Banking ۴.۰ marks a paradigm shift in the global financial landscape, where blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) emerge as pivotal enablers of transparency, security, and operational efficiency. This paper critically examines the transformative role of blockchain and DLT in redefining financial infrastructures, emphasizing their capacity to enhance trust, streamline transactions, and decentralize data management. Through a systematic exploration of theoretical foundations, practical applications, and global adoption trends, the study identifies how blockchain facilitates peer-to-peer transactions, automates compliance via smart contracts, and supports innovations such as tokenization, decentralized finance (DeFi), and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). The research further analyzes challenges impeding large-scale adoption including scalability limitations, regulatory ambiguity, interoperability issues, and privacy concerns while highlighting emerging solutions such as energy-efficient consensus mechanisms and regulatory sandboxes. Integrating insights from current global initiatives and case studies, the study illustrates how blockchain-driven ecosystems are reshaping the governance, sustainability, and competitiveness of modern banking. Moreover, it proposes future research directions centered on technological convergence with artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and green blockchain models to ensure ethical and sustainable innovation. The findings underscore blockchain’s strategic potential not merely as a technological upgrade but as a foundational infrastructure that redefines trust, inclusivity, and systemic resilience within Banking ۴.۰.
