چکیده مقاله:
The current study introduces a novel method, the scaled difference mode shape method, for the accurate detection of damage in beam-like structures within frame structures. This technique leverages the finite element method (FEM) to compute the mode shapes of both intact and damaged structures. By comparing these mode shapes, the method effectively identifies the location and severity of damage. The proposed method involves scaling the mode shapes of the damaged structure to match the mode shapes of the intact structure. Subsequently, the difference between the scaled and intact mode shapes is calculated. This difference, or residual, is then analyzed to pinpoint the regions of the structure that have sustained damage. The magnitude of the residual directly correlates with the severity of the damage. Through extensive numerical simulations, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been demonstrated in various damage scenarios, including different damage locations and severities. The results consistently highlight the high accuracy of the method in identifying damage, even in complex structural configurations. This novel technique offers a promising approach for structural health monitoring and damage assessment, providing valuable insights for maintenance and repair strategies.
