چکیده مقاله:

This review looks at how belief systems in educational psychology and couple therapy overlap, with a focus on how students' metacognitive reading comprehension strategies and reading beliefs can help couples in therapy. We combine results from educational interventions that aim to improve students' metacognitive awareness and reading skills with therapeutic models that target unhealthy relational beliefs in adult couples. According to educational psychology, providing students with metacognitive strategies, such as planning, monitoring and evaluating, greatly improves their reading comprehension and encourages adaptive academic belief systems. At the same time, cognitive–behavioural couple therapy (CBCT) and similar strategies have proven that correcting unhealthy ideas within a relationship can improve communication and satisfaction in romantic relationships. Although there are differences in context, both areas underscore the degree to which increasing awareness and self-regulation of internal beliefs can shape change. This review suggests a way to use educational metacognitive training methods in couple therapy that brings together different ideas. We clarify that we can use shared mechanisms, particularly self-regulation and belief modification, to create new psychoeducational modules for couples. In the future, we plan to create and test programs that focus on cognitive and social performance improvements.
