Urbanism of Modern Korea

As globalization increases, numerous nations are losing their architectural and cultural heritage totechnology and expanded economies. Japanese imperialism has had positive and negative effects oncities on the Korean Peninsula. Positive aspects of this approach include the introduction of modernurban planning, the development of industrialization, and the modernization and growth of the Koreaneconomy. The Japanese urban planning regulation introduced a zoning system in ۱۹۳۴. However,Korea has made significant gains in meeting the challenge of integrating tradition with contemporaryarchitecture. Reaching a point where it can be identified as Korean style is significant. ThroughKorea's efforts, other cultures may be able to develop styles that reflect their own culture whilemeeting the demands of modernization. This research presents a comprehensive overview of thedevelopment and urbanization transformation of urban space in Korea within the framework ofmodernization over the last ۱۰۰ years, a time when the built environment changed so fundamentallythat it is difficult to fully grasp its transformations. Even though modernization in Korea began morethan a century later than in the West, it has remained a prominent ideology throughout the pastcentury, resulting in significant modifications to Korean architecture and cities.
