چکیده مقاله:
Exploring the Biomarker Potential of Differentially Expressed circRNAs in Endometrial Cancer Abstract:Endometrial cancer (EC) is the sixth most common cancer among women, with increasing incidence and mortality. Endometrial cancer is one of the malignancies of the female reproductive system. In the past few years, there has been a significant change in the prevalence of EC, indicating that the age of endometrial cancer has decreased to younger women. Early diagnosis of endometrial cancer in the early stages of the disease can play a significant role in choosing the best treatment method that could improve the survival rate of the patient suffering from endometrial cancer. The most common diagnostic is uterine tissue biopsy, which is considered an invasive procedure. Therefore, finding a non-invasive method for early diagnosis is crucial. The development of this tumor is associated with several genetic disorders; many of them are still unknown. circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNA and novel endogenous transcripts that are present in a wide variety of tissue and cell types, known by a covalent closed-loop structure that distinguishes them from the linearRNAs. These transcripts can modulate gene expression and influence various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, and metastasis. Due to their special circular structure, they are resistant to further degradation of exonuclease and remain longer in biological samples. The expressive pattern of circRNAs is different from other non-coding RNAs. circRNAs exhibit distinct expression levels in various tissues. Recent reports demonstrate differential expression of circRNAs in cancer versus non-tumor tissues, indicating their crucial roles in tumorigenesis and malignancy development. Dysregulation of circRNAs can influence tumor progression, making therapeutic strategies targeting circRNA highly promising for clinical applications. circRNAs have high potential as biomarkers because of their stability in bodily fluids, making them easier to detect and potentially enabling less invasive diagnostic methods. Here, we focus on the biogenesis, function, and characteristics of circRNAs in EC in order to figure out their potential role as diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers.
