Determining nurses challenges with personal protective equipment duringCOVID۱۹ epidemia

Background and Aim: In the conditions of the Covid-۱۹ pandemic, nurses are praised as the main heroes of the fightagainst the disease. Among the things that need attention are the facilities they need while caring for the patients ofCovid-۱۹. In this regard, this research was conducted with the aim of investigating the challenges and problems ofnurses in connection with the use of personal protective equipment during the covid-۱۹ epidemic.methods: This study is a qualitative study of contractual content analysis type. The research population includednurses caring for patients with covid-۱۹, and a total of ۹ people were selected by purposive sampling until datasaturation. The data collection method was a qualitative interview that was conducted individually. Each interviewwas analyzed after the implementation of the text. In this research, the stages and coding paradigm of contractualqualitative content analysis were used for data analysis, and MAXQDA version ۲۰ software was used for datamanagement and organization.Findings: The findings of the present research from the qualitative part included ۹۴۳ initial codes, which afterreducing the data and merging the overlapping terms were reduced to ۴۰ main codes, ۱۲ subcategories and ۴ maincategories. These ۴ main categories include management challenges, personnel challenges, challenges related topatients, and challenges related to personal protective equipment that nurses faced during the Covid-۱۹ pandemic.Conclusion: Nurses are facing many challenges and problems during the covid ۱۹ pandemic. Since these people areon the front line of the fight against the pandemic, they always need many equipment and facilities, including qualityand standard personal protective equipment. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the working conditions ofthis group of the medical team during the Covid-۱۹ pandemic, and effective and practical solutions should be providedby the managers to adjust this challenge.
