چکیده مقاله:
Background: Considering the remarkable role of students in society and therelatively high prevalence of breast cancer in women, this study aimed todetermine the factors related to adopting preventive behaviors for breast cancer instudents.Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study populationconsisted of ۳۷۵ female students of Qazvin city, who were selected by stratifiedrandom sampling during the year ۲۰۱۹. Data collection tools included ademographic and contextual questionnaire and a valid and reliable questionnairefor measuring breast cancer preventive behaviors. Data were analyzed using SPSS۲۳ software program, descriptive statistics and logistic regression.Results: Using there was a statistically significant relationship betweenadopting preventive behaviors against breast cancer and physical activity (P<۰.۰۰۱), so that the chances of adopting good preventive behaviors in studentswith "occasionally", "rarely" and "never" physical activity were respectively۰.۴۱۰, ۰.۱۱۳, and ۰.۰۹۸ times chance for the students with daily physical activity.There was a significant relationship between breast cancer prevention andacademic years (p= ۰.۰۲۷), so that the chances of adopting good-level preventivebehaviors in the senior students was ۱.۴۹۸ times higher than the first year students.There was also a significant relationship between adopting preventive behaviorsand employment (P = ۰.۰۱۷), so that the chances of adopting good-level preventivebehaviors in unemployed students was ۱.۷۲۵ times higher than that of theemployed students.Conclusion: Students with lower education and less physical activity and theemployed individuals less commonly adopted preventive behaviors. Therefore, itis necessary to pay more attention to these students in designing educationalprograms.
