Comparison of maladaptive schemas in gay and heterosexual soldiers

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare The comparison of early maladaptive schemas among gay & heterosexuality soldiers .Materials and Methods: This study was a past-facto study. The statistical population of the study was all 19-30 years-old who were undertaking duty system in Tehran. The purposeful and accessible sampling method was implicated on 70 people. 35 cases of homosexuality and 35 heterosexuals was selected as a statistical sample., was used to measure the short form of Young Schema Questionnaire (SQ-SF) was used to assess maladaptive schemas. Descriptive statistics tools were used to analyze the data of this research. In addition, Kolmogorov-Smynorov test was used to normalize the data and to test hypotheses, also multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) to analyze the data, and T Independent groups to get a meaningful difference between the means.Results: The analysis of results of this study showed that generally there is a significant difference between maladaptive schemas in homosexual and heterosexual among who were undertaking duty system (P<0.01).Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, it seems that homosexual people have more maladaptive schemas and less mental health than the heterosexual group
