Background and Aim : The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on clinical symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in the spouses of neurological veterans.Methods : The research design was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest with experimental and control group. The population consisted of all spouses of veterans with mental disorders in the second 6 months of 2018 in Mashhad were referred to counseling centers,Among them, 40 individuals were selected by convenience sampling and assigned to experimental and control groups. The instrument used in this study was Anxiety, Stress and Depression Inventory (DASS-21). Subjects in the experimental group received 90-60 minutes of commitment-based and acceptance-based treatment for 8 weeks each week and the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were analyzed using covariance statistical method.Results : The mean scores of neuropsychiatric veterans wives decreased after the pre-test for depression, anxiety, and stress.Conclusion : The results showed that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) had a significant effect on the clinical symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in the spouses of neurological veterans.
