The purpose of the present study was firstly to examine the relationship between EFL teachers’ sense of responsibility and their spiritual intelligence. Secondly, the role of teachers’ gender in the relationship between EFL teachers’ sense of responsibility and their spiritual intelligence was also investigated. 110 EFL teachers were selected randomly from different high schools and institutes in Tehran. Two instruments were used to collect data for this study i.e. spiritual intelligence scale and sense of responsibility scale. Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient was used to investigate the relationship between teachers’ spiritual intelligence and sense of responsibility subscales. Further, in order to find differences in teachers’ sense of responsibility considering the gender, independent sample T-tests was also used. The subsequent data analysis and SPSS statistical calculations revealed that there is a significant relationship between EFL teachers’ sense of responsibility and their spiritual intelligence. Furthermore, significant difference was also found between teachers’ gender with EFL teachers’ sense of responsibility and their spiritual intelligence. The findings of this research have implications for teacher trainers and educational authorities as well as EFL teachers. Teacher trainers are suggested to make teachers familiar with the concept of responsibility and the importance of teachers’ spiritual intelligence in their pedagogical performance.
