Providing a Theoretical Framework for Assessing the Effect of Transformational Leadership Portfolio Management on Project Performance

Nowadays, transformational leadership portfolio management behavior of portfolio managers is oneof the most important factors in the success of project performance. It is generally focused on portfoliomanagers who oversee multiple projects to achieve business objectives. As business area and market placeare more competitive, managers and leaders have to be more flexible, influential, efficient, and responsive.For this reason, this study proposes to construct a framework to assess the role of transformationalleadership portfolio management on project performance. The impact of portfolio managers on improvingthe performance of the project has been widely cited in the literature and provided basis to propose aconceptual framework to evaluate the relationship between transformational leadership portfoliomanagement, climate for innovation, project portfolio management quality, and project performance. Theliterature review provided support for a proposed set of relationships among these constructs. Thisframework helps leaders and portfolio managers to have a clear perspective about the items that influencesuccess and performance of the projects. It provides the innovation climate for employees and improvingproject performance as the final and most important goal with maximizing performance and productivity toachieve strong leaders and portfolio managers. It serves to increase the knowledge about the process bytransformational leadership behavior of portfolio management which has significant effect on projectsuccess and performance.
