چکیده مقاله:

Introduction &Aim: Despite the possibility of early detection and substantial improvements in treatment and survival, cancer remains the leading cause of death in most developed countries. In this stage complications associated with terminal cancer may worsen or become harder to control.This studyaims to explain theperceptions ofparticipants aboutprogramming fordeathin order toprovide quality of care for these patients.Methods: This study was a qualitative content analysis that carried out for 12 months. Breast cancer patientsin end-stage life and their families have been identified for the interview.After conducting 25 in-depth theme or themes as the smallest meaningful unit extraction coded and categorized.Using in-depth interviews, views, opinions and beliefs of the participants in the study were collected in the context of preparation for death. The sample selection process was continued until data saturation.Results: The Subject of programmed death with 8 theme include determine the status of the property, how burial ceremony, specifying the place of death and burial,say goodbye to family and friends, asking for from friends and acquaintances, meet with clergy, perform custom actions such as say the declaration of faith, not having sudden death and awareness of time death was extracted.Conclusions: Paying attention to programmed death in breastcancer patients in the end-stage life stage is considered as a process of enhancing the quality of death and dying. Planning for death can be considered as an appropriate solution for both the patient and their families to deal with different reactions to death and dying.
