چکیده مقاله:
Today, due to the changing lifestyle some of the deadly diseases, including cancer, have become widespread.Nanoparticles are more convenient than other materials because of the small size in thedirection of entry and effect on the cells. In addition, these plant-synthesized substances have less side effects on healthy cells and have more therapeutic efficacy on cancer cells. In this study, toxicity effects of silver nanoparticles synthesized via green chemistry in Amaranthus cruentus seed extract have been tested on cancer cells through MTT assay. The MTT assay is cell viability test based on effect of material and exogenous material on vital cells. Then, cells were treated with different concentration of nanoparticles (0, 10, 20, 40 and 80 μg/ml) for 24, 48 and 72 hours. After that medium has removed and MTT added to each well and incubated for 4 hours. Then, DMSO was added in order to solve the dye. Plates were put in ELIZA reader and optical absorbance were read at 570 nm.results showed that silver nanoparticles synthesized in Amaranthus cruentus seed extract, are able to inhibit breast cancer cells and values of IC50 at 24, 48 and 72 hours were 15, 13 and 11 μg/ml, respectively. The percentage of viability (from concentration of 0 μg/ml to 80 μg/ml) decreased from 100 to 19%for 24 hours, which shown the inhibitory effects of nanoparticles on cancer cells. results of this study indicated that nanoparticles are able to inhibit cancer cells in low concentrations, thus, this nanoparticle probably could be used in suppression of cancer cells and cancer treatment.
