Social Support and Coping Styles of Breast Cancer Patients

Social support is defined as the availability of people who trust them and feel the person as aperson, respected and stressful conditions, such as cancer, an important psychologicalresource is taken into account. This study aimed to determine the relationship between familysocial support and coping styles were performed in patients with breast cancer. The researchwas descriptive and correlational. The sample consisted of 168 women with cancer of ImamReza Hospital Tabriz. 1- Social support questionnaire with 19 questions the reliability of 0.91was reported. 2- Coping Styles Scale Belingz & Muse with 19 questions the reliability ofwhich 0.87 were reported. And data analyzed with version 22 of SPSS software. The datashowed a significant positive correlation between the received social support and copingstyles were problem-oriented. In a general conclusion it can be said that the family of thepatient is more likely to support the recovery and use of problem-focused coping increases.
