چکیده مقاله:

Aim and Background: The aim of the present studywas to investigate the validity and reliability of thequestionnaire of tendency of preschool children to TVfrom the perspective of parents.Methods and Materials: In this cross-sectional study,114 mothers of the children in the age 2-4 y fromkindergartens of Tehran were studied (summer 2014).The random cluster sampling method was used. Afterthe designing of 23 questions in two subscales, thevalidity (content and construct) and reliability (testretestand internal consistency) of questionnaire wasexamined. Data analysis was performed with SPSSversion 21.Results: The content validity of the 11 questions weredesired, that the following questions were moreassessed and the remaining were excluded. To assessthe construct validity, correlation between the score ofitems and total scores were calculated, which weresatisfactory (0.566 and 0.685). The validity of thequestionnaire was evaluated by two methods: testretestand Cronbach’s alpha. Intra-class correlationcoefficient was between 0.796 and 0.889 andCronbach's alpha was between 0.887 and 0.941.Conclusion: Overall it can be said that questionnaireof the tendency of children to TV from theperspective of a parents” with 11 items and twosubscales, watching TV by children and its impact onthem in sight of parents is valid. According to thisstudy this questionnaire can be used in researchesrelated to children and TV.
