Effects of Irrigation Period and Seed Hydropriming on Some Traits of Green Beans

An experiment laid out in the split-plot arrangement using the randomized complete block design with three replications was carried out to study the effects of hydropriming and drought stress on some morphological traits of green bean cultivars in Damghan. The major factor was irrigation period (the 3-day period or the control, and the 5- and 7- day periods), and the minor factors were levels of priming (no priming or – priming and application of priming or + priming) and cultivars (the local cultivar Jamaran and the improved cultivar Sunray). Results of ANOVA showed the interaction effect of irrigation period *cultivar * priming, and the mutual effects of irrigation period * hydropriming and of cultivar * hydropriming, were not significant for any of the measured traits. However, the mutual effects of irrigation period cultivar on stem dry weight were significant at the 1% probability level, with the maximum stem dry weight belonging to the 3-day irrigation period and the improved cultivar.
