چکیده مقاله:
Background: Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is frequently associated with both sleep disturbances and emotional dysregulation. While these domains are often studied independently, their intersection in adolescents—a developmental period marked by significant shifts in sleep architecture and emotional processing—remains critical for clinical intervention. Objective: This meta-analysis aims to systematically review and quantify the relationship between sleep patterns and emotional regulation in adolescents with ADHD, utilizing data from ۲۰۲۰ to ۲۰۲۵. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across Google Scholar, PubMed, and Persian databases (SID, Magiran) for studies published between ۲۰۲۰ and ۲۰۲۵. Standardized Mean Differences (SMD) and correlation coefficients were extracted. A random-effects model was employed for the meta-analysis. Results: Analysis of ۱۵ eligible studies (N = ۲,۴۶۵ ADHD, N = ۱۸,۴۱۷ controls) revealed that adolescents with ADHD experience significantly shorter total sleep time (SMD = ۰.۴۷, p < ۰.۰۰۱) and higher sleep onset latency (SMD = ۰.۴۴, p < ۰.۰۰۱). Furthermore, a strong positive correlation was found between sleep disturbances and emotion dysregulation (r = ۰.۵۱, p < ۰.۰۰۱). Conclusion: Sleep patterns are intrinsically linked to emotional regulation in ADHD adolescents. Clinical management of ADHD should prioritize sleep hygiene as a primary pathway to improving emotional stability.
