The use and effectiveness of artificial intelligence in website design as a new technology

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in shaping the advancement of web development, digital technologies, and modern applications. This paper examines how AI is integrated into web technologies, emphasizing its role in improving interactivity, accessibility, personalization, and security. Applications of AI such as speech recognition, natural language processing, image analysis, and reasoning enhance user engagement through tools including voice-based navigation, conversational agents, visual search, and intelligent detection systems. Furthermore, initiatives such as Microsoft Airband, which uses AI-driven network planning to expand broadband availability, illustrate how embedding AI into web platforms and related services can promote digital inclusion, economic expansion, user reach, and wider innovation opportunities. Nevertheless, these developments also generate serious issues involving ethics, regulatory requirements, bias, accountability, and data privacy that must be effectively managed. To confront these issues, the study assesses the importance of the NIST AI RMF framework, highlighting governance, risk assessment, and management processes to satisfy compliance standards and ensure trustworthiness. By reviewing the progression of the web from Web ۱.۰ to Web ۴.۰, the analysis identifies AI as a key force shaping future web directions where humans and machines collaborate within an intelligent, immersive environment. The results underline AI’s dual role as both a catalyst for web innovation and a possible risk factor, thereby stressing the need for balanced policies and thoughtful implementation strategies.
