چکیده مقاله:

Background: Osteoporosis is a chronic skeletal disorder characterized by reduced bone mineral density and increased fracture risk, often leading to pain, reduced mobility, and decreased quality of life. In addition to its physical consequences, osteoporosis can negatively affect mental health, contributing to anxiety, depression, and reduced self confidence. Exercise has been recognized as a non pharmacological strategy that may improve both physical function and psychological well being in individuals with osteoporosis. Methods: This review examines evidence from clinical and experimental studies investigating the effects of exercise interventions on quality of life and mental health outcomes in individuals with osteoporosis. Studies including resistance training, weight bearing exercise, balance training, and combined exercise programs were considered. Key outcomes included measures of quality of life, depressive symptoms, anxiety levels, functional capacity, and overall psychological well being. Results: The available evidence suggests that regular exercise programs can significantly improve quality of life and mental health in individuals with osteoporosis. Exercise interventions have been associated with reductions in depressive symptoms and anxiety, improvements in self esteem, and enhanced physical functioning and independence. Resistance and weight bearing exercises, in particular, appear to provide beneficial effects by improving muscular strength, balance, and mobility, which may reduce fear of falling and increase confidence in daily activities. Conclusion: Exercise represents an effective and accessible strategy to enhance both quality of life and mental health in individuals with osteoporosis. Incorporating structured physical activity programs into osteoporosis management may help improve physical function, psychological well being, and overall health outcomes.
