A Conceptual Framework for Supporting Decision-Making Under Uncertainty in Agile Projects

Agile projects operate in environments characterized by high levels of uncertainty, rapidly evolving requirements, and competitive pressures. Although frameworks such as Scrum emphasize flexibility and responsiveness, decision-making processes within these approaches are often based on intuitive judgments and individual experience, lacking sufficient structural support. This limitation may affect the quality of decisions related to backlog prioritization and sprint planning. This study adopts a conceptual perspective to examine decision-making challenges in agile projects under uncertain conditions and proposes a general framework for structured decision support. The proposed framework emphasizes the identification of key environmental factors, the consideration of multiple decision criteria, and the alignment between strategic and operational dimensions. By providing a structured perspective, the framework aims to enhance decision quality in agile teams. The contribution of this study lies in offering a conceptual foundation for developing more systematic decision-support approaches in agile project management.
