Review of investigations of medical effect Punica granatum L. in the recent years

Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) is a known source for its nutritional source and capable for various health benefits against diseases. Pomegranate fruit is rich in bioactive components and, therefore, have various activities antiviral, antimicrobial, anticancer, and antioxidant properties. Numerous biological studies, focused on the phytocomplexes extracted from pomegranate fruit, have demonstrated the nutraceutical and nutritional properties of this plant extract and the inhibition of germination and early growth of seedlings is observed as the main allelopathic effect in pomegranate. Pomegranate extraction methods were reviewed and protected method could afford industrial-scale production. Emerging methods for the extraction of natural products showed generally higher effectiveness, efficiency, process yield, and straightforward scalability. This library research is focused on the derived compounds and important applied aspects of medicine pomegranate extraction in current years.
