چکیده مقاله:
The construction sector’s reliance on concrete, a major CO₂ contributor (۸% globally), necessitates fiber-reinforced solutions to enhance sustainability and performance. Fragmented adoption persists due to siloed research, regional disparities, and systemic technical, economic, and geopolitical challenges. Introducing the Fiber Atlas & Encyclopedia, this study offers a dual framework cataloging fibers (natural, synthetic, recycled, hybrid) within geographic, climatic, socioeconomic contexts. The Atlas identifies regionally optimal fibers, exemplified by Colombia’s bamboo housing and Germany’s tire-recycled roads, aligning local resources with climate resilience and circularity. The Encyclopedia compares ۱۰۰+ fibers across tensile strength (۵۰–۷,۰۰۰ MPa), cost ($۰.۱۰–۱۰۰/kg), carbon footprints (۰.۳–۲۵ kg CO₂/kg), and durability, proposing hybrid strategies to balance performance and sustainability. Natural fibers (e.g., coir, sisal) reduce costs ۲۰–۴۰% and embodied carbon ۵۰% but require treatments against alkaline degradation. Synthetic/recycled fibers (e.g., basalt, tire rubber) excel in niche roles but face scalability issues from energy intensity and microplastic risks. Innovations like self-healing mycelium composites and AI-optimized hybrids highlight emerging adaptive, low-carbon solutions. Scaling demands policy reforms, standardized codes, and industrial symbiosis. Bridging academia and industry, the framework transitions fiber-reinforced concrete from niche to mainstream, merging material science with geographic intelligence for resilient, equitable infrastructure—key to planetary stewardship.
