چکیده مقاله:

Rohida (Tecomella undulata (Roxb.) Seem), is a tree belonging to the Bignoniaceae family that faces extinction due to habitat destruction, biological limitations, climate change, and vulnerability to pests and grazing activities. The purpose of this research is to study vegetative characteristics of Rohida and identify human threats in these habitats. Here, after determining locations of Rohida in Jiroft County, three main sites located in Delfard, Mijan, and Dasht e Kuch were selected. Fixed-sample line sampling was used to record vegetative characteristics of Rohida. Human destructive factors were recorded based on observations and interviews with local communities in study areas. Our results showed the dominant companion plants with Rohida were Pistacia atlantica in Delfard, Ziziphus spina in Mihan, and Calligonum comosums in Dasht e Kuch. At our study sites, Rohida stands are mostly old—young stands are rarely seen. The mean Rohida heights in Delfard, Mijan and Dasht e Kuch were ۵.۲, ۵.۵, and ۶.۴ m, respectively, and density per hectare was ۱۰۵, ۷۶, and ۸۱. The most dominant human disturbance at our study sites was overgrazing, which causes the destruction of young trees and seedlings.
