چکیده مقاله:

Background and Objective: Childhood is one of the most sensitive and crucial periods of human life; a period in which the main foundations of physiological, cognitive, emotional and social development are formed. In the meantime, proper nutrition, as one of the main components of children's health, plays an irreplaceable role in balanced development and prevention of diseases in adulthood. Healthy nutrition in childhood is not only one of the key factors of physical and mental development, but also plays an important role in preventing chronic diseases in adulthood. However, today, for various reasons including modern lifestyle, cultural changes, weak public education, and the influence of media and advertising, many children are exposed to foods that not only lack nutritional value, but can also lead to serious physical and mental problems. Therefore, this article examines the role of vulnerable foods and unhealthy nutrition on children's health. Method: This research is theoretical and descriptive-analytical, and the method of collecting library data is used. Findings: In recent decades, with the spread of sedentary lifestyles, increased consumption of processed foods, widespread advertising of unhealthy foods, and lack of proper nutritional education, children have been exposed to harmful foods more than ever before. These harms are not limited to obesity, but also include malnutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, digestive disorders, and even psychological effects such as anxiety and concentration disorders. Foods that can harm children's health due to their specific characteristics such as high sugar, fat, and salt levels, lack of nutrients needed by the body, and widespread advertising. These types of foods are directly linked to problems such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and even mental disorders in children.
