Efficacy of Terbuthylazine and Isoxaflutel + Thiencarbazone in comparison with common herbicides on weed control in corn, Zea mays

Experiments were performed from ۲۰۲۱ to ۲۰۲۲ in Ardabil, Alborz, and Kermanshah province, Iran, to evaluate the efficiency of Terbuthylazine and Isoxaflutel + Thiencarbazone on controlling weeds in corn feilds. Examined herbicides included Terbuthylazine (A-Maize-ing ۵۰% SC), Isoxaflutel + Thiencarbazone (Adango SC ۴۶.۵%), Mesotrione + S-metolachlor (Lumax ۵۳.۷۵% SE), ۲. ۴, D + MCPA (۶۷.۵% SL), Bromoxynil + MCPA (Bromicide MA ۴۰% EC), Bromoxynil + MCPA (Bromicide MA ۴۰% EC) + Nicosulfuron (Cruze ۴% SC). The results showed that application of A-Maize-ing, Adengo, Lumax, ۲. ۴, D + MCPA, Bromicide MA, and Bromicide MA + Cruze herbicides affected weed density and dry weight (more than ۸۵%), increasing the corn yield in all three provinces. A-Maize-ing and Adengo were as effective as other commonly used herbicides in corn fields of Iran; therefore, the use of these herbicides can be recommended. Redroot pigweed and common lambsquarters weed plants were sensitive to A-Maize-ing and Adengo herbicides.
