Mechanization of Small-Scale Farms in Iran

Due to increasing in world population requests for food are increased consequently. This has caused the studies focus on food security and food distribution. Agriculture is in forefront of food producing chain. Therefore, developing that is crucial and farmers are attempting to employ new technologies in their activities. Mechanization can significantly improve productivity in agriculture. Thus, it is established in developed countries properly. However, developing mechanization in small-scale farms is not easily possible and includes some challenges. This problem is also showing in Iran and farmers have not used agricultural machines in their small farms. For this reason, present study tried to analyze the mechanization status in Iran in ۲۰۰۰ decade and compare that with present situation. Then, by extracting essential data, the major obstacles were determined and explained. Thereby, three economic situation, sanctions, and machines production problems were revealed from the assessed information. By doing this work, it was logical to introduce solutions to them and these solutions derived from available equipment in Iran. Therefore, for each problem a solution was defined. Ultimately, analyzing and categorizing the findings led to make a framework which was the main purpose of doing this research. The intended framework was designed and any obstacle linked with a solution. Improving farmers’ income, relying on domestic potential, and establishing new companies were introduced as solutions, respectively. As a result, this research’s outcome will be a guideline to improve mechanization level in small-scale farms in Iran.
