چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Pain management in cancer patients is a crucial element of palliative care, with cultural perspectives exerting a significant influence. Patients' perceptions of pain, their willingness to report it, and their adherence to prescribed pain management regimens are profoundly shaped by cultural beliefs and practices. Research indicates that patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds may harbor distinct concerns regarding pain medication, including apprehensions related to addiction, side effects, and toleranceMethods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar. Studies published between ۲۰۱۰ and ۲۰۲۳ were included, focusing on cultural perspectives in pain management among cancer patients. Qualitative and quantitative research articles were analyzed to identify common themes, beliefs, and barriers related to pain perception and management across different cultures. Results: There are significant cultural variations in pain perception and management practices, revealing that cultural beliefs can impact patients’ willingness to report pain and accept treatment. Barriers identified to effective pain management include cultural stigma surrounding pain expression, misunderstandings about medication use, and culturally inadequate communication by health care providersConclusion: Cultural perspectives significantly influence pain management strategies among cancer patients. Hence, it is need for healthcare providers to recognize and address cultural factors in pain management practices. Further research is needed to develop culturally sensitive interventions that bridge the gap between patients' needs and healthcare delivery.
