چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: The present study aimed to investigate the Individual Meaning-centered Psychotherapy (IMCP) effectiveness and persistence over time to reduce the demoralization of women with advanced metastatic cancer. Methods: It was conducted quasi-experimental method (pre-test, post-test, and one-month follow-up). The statistical population included women with advanced metastatic cancer who had a file in the Iranian Cancer Control Center (MACSA) in Tehran between July ۲۰۲۰ and June ۲۰۲۱. Among them, thirty patients who met the inclusion criteria were selected by a convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two groups (IMCP group and control group). IMCP was conducted in seven sixty-minute online sessions for the case group. All participants responded to the demoralization scale (Kissane et al., ۲۰۰۴). The data were analyzed by SPSS-۲۳ and repeated measures ANOVA, in P<۰/۰۵. Results: The findings showed the significant effect of time (P <۰.۰۰۱), the effect of group (P <۰.۰۰۱) and the interaction of time with the group (P <۰.۰۰۱) and also confirmed its persistence (P<۰.۰۰۱). Conclusion: This study confirmed the lasting effectiveness of IMCP to reduce demoralization in women with advanced metastatic cancer.
