چکیده مقاله:
As biomedical needs increase the number of different organisms, the development of biocompatible materials that enhance biological activity becomes an urgent need. Chitosan is a cationic polyelectrolyte-based copolymer that stands out for its outstanding biological properties, making it a promising starting point for the creation of multifunctional biomedical devices. Chitosan's amino (-NH۲) and hydroxyl groups (-OH) are what give it its properties, including mucoadhesion, enhanced permeability, controlled drug release, in situ gelation process, and antibacterial action. With their diverse range of physical and chemical characteristics, chitosan and its derivatives have great promise for application in the pharmaceutical and medical fields.
