A new method for the synthesis of hepta-substituted biguanides using CuO nanoparticles

The synthesis of fully-substituted biguanides via a copper oxide nano-catalysis multicomponent reaction of carbodiimides, ۱,۱,۳,۳-tetramethylguanidine, and aryl halides is reported. The use of simple and readily available starting materials, mild copper-catalytic reaction conditions, no column chromatography, and good yields are remarkable specifications of this protocol.
