Among the concrete structure elements, reinforced concrete slabs have been the focus of researchers due to their importance and diverse application in comparison with other elements. On the other hand, in the concrete slab, the uncertainty of the concrete and reinforcement specifications is the basis for variation in their behavior. In this research, the effects of uncertainty in the properties of concrete and steel have been investigated by the limit state method. For this purpose, the values of the main parameters in the design of the reinforced concrete slab, such as the compressive strength evaluated from concrete and the yield strength and post-yield behavior of steel, are considered stochastic parameters and their effect on the behavior of the concrete slab has been investigated. In this way, the uncertainty of the outputs, including variations in load-deflection behavior, fundamental frequency, and yield deformation are assessed via a coded program that has been developed in the OPENSEES software by random variable method. A comparison of the results shows that considering the uncertainty in the main characteristics of concrete and steel has a significant effect on the output results of the concrete slab design.
