چکیده مقاله:
Despite clear guidelines and effective treatments, many children with ADHD in the US don't receive adequate treatment. To address this issue, two studies with over ۱۵۰۰ families of children with ADHD were conducted. Barriers to treatment included dissatisfaction with brief diagnoses, fear of medication, and lack of initial response or side effects. Based on these findings, a three-session intervention was developed, including comprehensive evaluations and parent education. Following the intervention, ۹۵% of families adhered to treatment recommendations and ۳% received diagnoses and treatment for other conditions.
