چکیده مقاله:
In borderline personality disorder, the person is always moving on the edge of a border or line, and at any moment it is possible to fall from one side of the border. People with this personality disorder are classified as psychopaths due to their unstable behaviour and emotions, and unfortunately, this disorder is more common in women. People with borderline personality disorder are happy and happy one moment and depressed and isolated the next. Also, these people lack any emotion at one moment and appear as a quarrelsome person at the next moment. Borderline personality disorder is one of the types of personality disorders, the prevalence of this disorder during life is about ۵-۶% of the general population and about ۲۰% of the hospitalized population. From the point of view of clinical psychology, borderline personality disorder can be identified with such things as avoiding rejection and abandonment, unstable interpersonal relationships, identity confusion, problems in anger control, emotional instability, suicidal behaviours, etc. One of the approaches that made considerable progress in the treatment of many clinical disorders was cognitive-behavioural therapy, but many patients did not respond to this type of treatment. Therefore, therapists presented newer therapeutic approaches, one of these therapeutic approaches that was presented to solve the problems of personality disorders, especially borderline personality disorder, is schema therapy. According to the theory of schema therapy, patients with borderline personality disorder have incompatible schemas that lead to the exacerbation of the symptoms of this disorder. The schema therapy approach focuses on self-destructive patterns that are repeated since childhood. According to previous studies, the evidence indicates that schema therapy has a significant effect in reducing the symptoms of clients with borderline personality disorder.
