چکیده مقاله:

Background: Exceptional school is a platform for providing special educational services andtraining programs to children with special needs in the form of physical, psychological,cognitive, behavioral, socioemotional limitations. The chronic characteristic of thelimitations of the mentioned children emphasizes the importance of long -term care in theform of rehabilitation, especially rehabilitation counseling. Rehabilitation counselingincorporates a set of proficient abilities to assist individuals with long -term disabilities, inorder to reinforce their independence and adaptability. Accordingly, the n ovel approach oftele-rehabilitation counseling ignores geographical obstacles and improves individuals’access to counseling services using the information and communication technology.Therefore, the present study was conducted in order to determine the consequences ofeffectiveness of tele-rehabilitation counseling on children of exceptional schools.Methods: This article was conducted by reviewing the related resources in Science -Direct,Google-Scholar, Medline, Elsevier and Cochrane-Library databases between ۲۰۱۹ to ۲۰۲۳,based on the keywords. Afterwards, among the primary ۲۸ articles, ۱۴ articles wereselected and reviewed.Findings: Based on the reviewed studies, tele-rehabilitation counseling for children of exceptionalschools was implemented through the voice or video call and the mobile phone or personal computerbased software, in the form of "cognitive-behavioral therapy", "psychoanalysis", "emotion-focusedtherapy", "social communication skills training", "play therapy" and "speech therapy". Regardless ofthe aforementioned services’ simpler, safer and more economical advantages compared to traditionalapproaches, they have also increased the self-control, self-acceptance, self-confidence and self-esteemof children with special needs. Moreover, the reduction of anxiety disorders and reciprocally, theincreased social, educational and adaptation skills among the mentioned individuals have beenreported.Conclusion: Based on the findings, tele-rehabilitation counseling had spectacular constructiveconsequences on children of exceptional schools. Subsequently, based on the mentioned findings,alongside the expanding universal demand of tele-health and information technology, considering thetele-rehabilitation counseling approaches is necessary. Therefore, implementing the essential actionsin order to expand the mentioned approach is recommended.
