چکیده مقاله:

Sunscreens are used to provide protection against adverse effects of ultraviolet (UV)B (۲۹۰–۳۲۰ nm) and UVA (۳۲۰–۴۰۰ nm) radiation. According to the United States Food and Drug Administration, the protection factor against UVA should be at least one-third of the overall sun protection factor. Titanium dioxide (TiO۲) and zinc oxide (ZnO) minerals are frequently employed in sunscreens as inorganic physical sun blockers. As TiO۲ is more effective in UVB and ZnO in the UVA range, the combination of these particles assures a broad-band UV protection. However, to solve the cosmetic drawback of these opaque sunscreens, microsized TiO۲ and ZnO have been increasingly replaced by TiO۲ and ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) (<۱۰۰ nm). In recent years, due to its electronic properties, zinc oxide has a potential application in solar cells, cosmetic and health industries and the production of natural dressings. Due to the antibacterial property of these particles and also due to the flagging the ultraviolet rays of the sun, they are used in the production of sunscreen creams. In this paper, sunscreen is prepared using zinc oxide. Among the important features of this formulation is the absence of a white effect on the skin after using the cream. Another advantage of the new sunscreen is that it is not absorbed by the skin and does not cause sensitivity, and it has antibacterial properties and high coverage.
