چکیده مقاله:
Abstract Background & Objective: Shoe mileage is an important factor that may influence the risk of sustaining injuries during running. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of Thermoplastic polyurethane and Rubber military boots mileage on lower limb muscle activities during running. methods: Fifteen healthy males received two new and used pair of boots. They were made of rubber and thermoplastic polyurethane. Pre and post intervention, mechanical shoe testing was conducted and muscle activities of the right leg were recorded during running at preferred run speed. Repeated measure ANOVA was used for statistical analysis at a significance level of ۰.۰۵. Findings: Results did not demonstrate significant main effect of boots and group for muscle activities during running phases. Findings showed significant main effect of boot-by-group interactions for TA (p=۰.۰۳۷, d=۰.۱۴۶), Gas-Med (p=۰.۰۲۳, d=۰.۱۷۲), and Glut-Med (p=۰.۰۳۸, d=۰.۱۴۴) during loading phase. on the other, Results showed significantly effect for TA (p=۰.۰۰۳, d=۰.۲۷۸) during mid-stance phase. on the other hand, Results showed during push off phase Gas-Med muscle (p=۰.۰۴۶, d= ۰.۱۳۵) had a significant difference. Conclusion: The results of this study show that the type of boots used can be effective in preventing lower limb injuries, on the other hand, the use of new rubber operational boots is suggested for the military. Our findings indicate that the observed changes in muscle activities variables are more prominent in used boots.
