چکیده مقاله:
A Fault Tolerant Controller (FTC) of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive has been designed in this paper, through combining the sliding mode controller and observer. To achieve this goal, a Sliding Mode Controller (SMC), based on the vector control of PMSM is utilized. The controller significantly relies on speed sensor measurements for achieving good performance in the closed-loop control. The proposed fault detection algorithm calculates the speed residual. In addition, a Sliding Mode Observer (SMO) has been used to estimate the motor speed via voltage and current of the motor. Thus, the observer generates a virtual speed sensor through motor speed estimation. Whenever the sensor faces a fault, FTC detects the fault and immediately replaces the sensor measurements with observer estimations for sensorless control of the motor. The stability of the overall closed-loop system has been investigated using Lyapunov stability theory. Simulation results verify effectiveness of the proposed FTC.
